AI b-roll

AI b-roll fills the gaps in your b-roll. Where your clips and the Garren library have nothing that fits a moment, Garren makes a short clip for it: footage of exactly what you say there. It works in every mode: a normal edit, Studio and Direct Response.

Switch it on

Under B-roll you tick where footage comes from:

• Garren library: stock videos and photos.
• Your library: the clips you add to a video, your style's b-roll library, your Google Drive folders and every AI clip made for you before.
• AI b-roll: footage made for the moments the libraries you ticked have nothing for.

Tick them on the New video page for one video or a whole batch, or in the Style Lab under B-roll for every video in a style. AI b-roll on its own works too: then every cutaway is made for its moment.

In the review room, ask in chat: "use AI b-roll", "no AI b-roll". When you ask for a cutaway in chat and nothing in your libraries fits, Garren makes one.

What the clips look like

Every AI clip is checked like library footage before it goes in: it has to show what you say and look premium. Clips with warped hands or faces, garbled writing or an artificial look are left out. The clips show generic scenes, without readable text, logos or brand names, and never your face. Moments that need your own product or a screen with real numbers are better shown with your own clips.

Credits

AI b-roll uses 0.5 credits per AI clip in the finished video, the same in every mode, on top of the edit itself. The edit's minutes and its clips are added up and rounded up once. Clips that are made but don't make it into your video cost nothing.

Before you start, the New video page shows about how many AI clips the edit will get and the most it can get, for example "About 4 AI clips · at most 8". The most is set aside when the edit starts; once it's done you pay for the clips in the video and the rest goes back to your balance. An edit never uses more AI clips than that without asking you.

A cutaway made in chat uses 0.5 credits once the change is in a rendered version.

Your AI clips are yours

Every AI clip made for you lands in your library: Library › AI b-roll. Your later videos use them for free whenever Your library is ticked, so you pay for a clip once.

Generic AI clips may also be added to Garren's shared library, after a review, and then show up for other customers like stock footage. Clips that show your brand, your product or you never are.
