Custom styles from your videos
Show Garren up to three videos in a style you like and it builds that style for you: its captions, graphics, fonts, colours, cuts, music and sound. Custom styles are in Beta.
Build a style
- On the Styles page, choose Build a style.
- Add up to three reference videos: paste YouTube links or upload MP4 or MOV files. With your YouTube channel added, Garren offers your own most-viewed videos.
- Give the style a name.
- Choose Analyse.
The analysis takes a few minutes per video. You can leave the page and come back. Garren watches the videos, reads their captions and graphics, writes the style and then designs your graphics in that look.
Pick references that look the way you want your videos to look, ideally from the same channel or the same series. Videos that mix several looks give a less clear style.
Tune it in the Style Lab
When the analysis is done, the Style Lab opens on Your style. The preview shows exactly what an edit renders. You can change:

| Style rules | Notes from your chats that apply to every video in the style |
Choose Use this style to save it, then New video in this style.
Review and change single graphics
Review graphics shows every graphic of the style. Mark each one Looks good or Needs work, and use Change this graphic to describe what should be different. Only that graphic is designed again and checked.
Every style build includes 3 graphic changes. After that, each change uses 2 credits, and only when the new version passes our checks.

The first build of each custom style is included in your plan. Rebuilding a style, analysing it again or replacing it with a new one uses 25 credits. The Styles page shows how many of your custom styles you've used.
Your reference videos
Garren deletes the reference videos after the analysis and keeps only what it learned and a few still frames that show you what it found. Use reference videos you're allowed to use for this.
Why Beta
Custom styles copy a look from real videos, and some looks come out closer than others. We're still improving how they're built. If a style doesn't look right, change it in the Style Lab, or tell us at hello@garren.si.
