Change the edit in chat

Type what you want changed, like "make the captions smaller" or "cut the part about my dog", and Garren makes a new version. Each video includes 5 changes in chat.

What you can ask for

The assistant can change graphics, captions, music, zooms and the cut. For example:

• The cut: "tighten the intro", "cut the part about pricing"
• Graphics: "add a graphic here", "remove the emoji", "make the list graphic say 3 steps, not 4", "use #00B140 as the colour"
• Captions: "bigger captions", "no captions in the first 5 seconds", "captions at the top"
• Zooms: "fewer zooms", "more zooms"
• Music and sound: "quieter music", "another song", "no sound effects", "my voice a bit louder"
• B-roll: "add b-roll of a laptop when I talk about email", "only use my own clips"
• Colour: "the footage looks too dark"

Below the chat you'll find suggestions such as Bigger captions, Fewer zooms and Tighter cuts. Tap one to send it.

Point at a moment

Pause the video where you want the change and choose Comment at current time. Your message is tied to that moment, so "make this graphic shorter" or "cut from here" means exactly this spot.

How a change is made

Garren plans the change, applies it and renders only the segments that changed, so most changes are quick. The result is a new version. If you don't like it, choose Undo or go back to any earlier version.

When something can't be done, the assistant says so and explains why.

Make it permanent

A change in chat is for this video. If it should apply to every video in the style, say so: "always use smaller captions", "never use emojis", "from now on, our brand colour is #00B140". Garren saves it as a style rule, which you can see in the Style Lab under Style rules.

Credits

The chat shows how many credits a change used. Changes in the Style and Sound tabs aren't counted as chat changes. See What uses credits.
