Progress and time left
While Garren edits, the video's page shows each step and how much time is left. Most videos are ready in a few minutes.
The steps
| Step | What happens |

| Queue | The edit waits for its turn. |
| Import | Footage from links is downloaded (only shown for links). |
| Transcribe | Garren writes down every word you say. |
| Cut | It picks the best takes and builds the cut. |
| Plan | It plans zooms, graphics, b-roll and music. |
| Render | The video is made. |
| Mix | Voice, music and sound effects are mixed. |
| Check | The finished edit is checked and fixed where needed. |
Next to the steps, What's being edited lists the style, the files, the script and your notes.
Time left
The page shows an estimate such as "About 4 min left", "Less than a minute left" or "Almost done". It updates as the edit goes on. Longer videos, more footage and links that need downloading take longer.
You can close the page
The edit keeps going on our side. It shows up on your projects when it's ready, and Garren sends you an email. To turn that email off, go to Settings › Notifications and switch off When an edit is ready.
If an edit doesn't finish
The page says This edit didn't finish and offers Try again. The credits reserved for an edit that fails on our side go back to your balance. If it fails again, write to hello@garren.si with the video's name.
