What Garren does in the edit

Garren cuts your footage, then adds zooms, graphics, b-roll, captions, music and sound effects in your style, and checks the result before you see it.

The cut

Garren transcribes your footage and keeps the best take of every line. Names and brands from your script, notes and title are spelled your way. Filler words, long pauses, false starts and double takes come out. With a script, it follows the script's order. Without one, it keeps what you said in the order you said it, minus the repeats.

The pace of the cut is set by the style. For one video you can change it on the New video page under Cuts: Normal, Tight or Very tight.

Zooms

Zooms keep a talking-head video moving. At Normal, every cut gets a clear size jump, strong words get a quick zoom, and some longer shots drift in slowly. Zooms work the same way in every style, and you can set them to Off, Normal or High. See Levels.

Graphics

Animated graphics show the points you make: numbers, lists, steps, comparisons, quotes and key words. Some fill the screen for a moment, others sit next to you over the video. When you mention a brand or a country, the graphic can show its logo or flag. Graphics use your style's fonts and colours.

B-roll

B-roll is footage that plays over your voice, such as product shots, screen recordings or places. It can come from your own clips, the Garren library, or both. Garren only uses library footage that fits what you're saying and looks good; when nothing fits, you stay on screen. See Music, sound effects and b-roll.

Captions

Captions follow your words as you speak, in your style's look: word by word, karaoke, a line, or minimal. They're bigger on vertical and feed videos. You can also download them as an SRT file.

Music and sound effects

Garren picks a track from your style's music and mixes it under your voice: it gets quieter while you speak and comes up in the pauses, the intro and the outro. Sound effects accent graphics and transitions. Your voice is cleaned up and levelled, and the whole mix is set to a loudness that suits YouTube and social platforms.

Colour

Footage that looks good stays as it is. Garren corrects footage that's clearly too flat, too dark, too bright or tinted. You can also ask for colour correction in the notes or later in the chat.

The check

Before your video is ready, Garren watches the finished edit and repairs graphics that came out wrong, for example text that's too long for the screen or a graphic that covers your face.

What you can change afterwards

Everything. Type what you want in the chat, change the captions, graphics and zooms in the Style tab, or the music and sound in the Sound tab. See The review room.
