Music, sound effects and b-roll

Each style comes with its own music, sound effects and b-roll settings. You can change them in the style, for one video before the edit, or in the review room afterwards.

Music

Music is organised in themes, each with several tracks:

Calm · Simple · Corporate · Upbeat · Playful · Dramatic · Inspiring · Lo-fi · Confident

Garren picks a track from the style's music and mixes it under your voice: quieter while you speak, louder in the pauses, the intro and the outro. Every video in the same batch uses the same track.

For one video, choose a different theme or a single track under Music style and Track on the New video page, or set Music to Off.

Your own music

A style can have its own tracks, so every video for a client sounds the same. In the Style Lab under Sound:

• Upload a track you have the rights to.
• Make a new track from a description ("warm acoustic guitar, slow") or More like a track you already have. Garren makes an instrumental track of about two minutes. A new track uses 2 credits. Descriptions that name artists or songs aren't accepted.
• Add tracks from the Garren library.

Music level goes from Barely there to Present. Effects level goes from Subtle to Loud.

Sound effects

Whooshes, pops, clicks and risers accent graphics, zooms and transitions. Their level follows the style; set them to Off, Normal or High per video.

B-roll

B-roll is footage that plays over your voice while you keep talking, on the words it fits.

Your own uses your clips: the style's b-roll library and the clips you add to a video. Garren library uses stock videos and photos. Both uses your clips first and the library for the rest.

Garren only uses library footage that shows what you're saying and looks good: sharp, clean and without watermarks or text. When nothing fits, there's no cutaway and you stay on screen.

Your b-roll library

In the Style Lab under B-roll, upload clips once and every video in that style can use them: product shots, screen recordings, your office, places. Agencies keep each client's clips in the client's style.

For one video, drop clips under Add clips for this video on the New video page. Video without talking works best.

Using the music in your videos

The music and sound effects Garren adds are licensed for use in the videos it makes for you, including on monetised channels and in paid ads, also after your subscription ends. They can't be taken out and used on their own.
