How long files are kept
Garren keeps your finished videos as long as you're on a plan. Footage and project files are kept for a while after your last change, longer on bigger plans.
By plan
| File | Free video | Starter | Creator | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Finished video (current version) | 30 days after your last change | While you're on the plan | While you're on the plan | While you're on the plan |
| Older versions you replaced | 1 day | 7 days | 14 days | 30 days |
| Your footage and the project's files | 3 days after your last change | 14 days | 30 days | 90 days |
| Uploads you never used in a video | 2 days | 7 days | 7 days | 7 days |
"After your last change" means the clock starts again every time you change the video. The finished video includes its captions, timeline, other frames, thumbnails and YouTube package or post copy.
On Creator and Pro, the project's files include the timeline and captions of every version, so a project can be opened in editing software later. On Pro they also include what the editing project download needs.
After your footage is deleted
The finished video stays, and you can still download it. To make a new edit from the same recording, upload the footage again in a new video.
Other files
| File | Kept |
|---|---|
| Reference videos for a custom style | Deleted right after the analysis; the style keeps what it learned and a few still frames |
| Your styles, b-roll libraries and own music | As long as your account exists, and 12 months after a paid plan ends |
| Editing project downloads (Pro) | 7 days |
When a plan ends
Your videos stay for 30 days after Starter, 60 days after Creator and 90 days after Pro, so you can come back or download them. Then they're deleted.
Deleting things yourself
You can delete videos, styles and your whole account in the app at any time. Deleted files disappear from the app at once and are removed from our storage within 7 days.
