Ad and post copy
Every finished video can come with the text that goes next to it: ad copy for Ads Manager, or the caption for an organic post. Garren writes it from the video itself: what's said in the final cut, your script and your notes. It's written in the language of the video.
Write the copy
Open the Copy tab in the review room. A 16:9 video has it next to the YouTube tab.
- Under Where it runs, pick Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn or Other.
- Under What it is, pick Ad or Organic post.
- Choose the Write button.
The tab starts on the choice that fits the video: a 4:5 video on Facebook, a 9:16 video on Instagram, every video of a batch of ads on Ad. After that it starts on your last choice for that frame. A 9:16 or 4:5 video gets its copy written right after the edit.
Every platform's copy stays. Switch back and it's still there.
What an ad gets
Three primary texts and three headlines in a fixed direct-response format:
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Primary text | A one-line hook, a short paragraph (the problem, the product, a concrete benefit), one line of proof or benefit, and a closing line with the product name and the call to action. Each of the three takes a different angle. |
| Headline | A few words, one benefit each, general enough for any creative. |
| Description | One short line, where the platform has one. |
Each platform gets its own fields and limits:
| Platform | Texts | Headlines | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary text | Up to 40 characters | Up to 30 characters | |
| Primary text | Up to 40 characters | None | |
| TikTok | Ad text, up to 100 characters | None | None |
| YouTube Shorts | Descriptions, up to 90 characters | Up to 40 characters | Long headline, up to 90 characters |
| Introductory text, up to 600 characters | Up to 70 characters | Up to 100 characters | |
| Other | Primary text | Up to 40 characters | Up to 30 characters |
The copy stays within the ad rules of the platforms. It doesn't refer to the viewer's personal situation (money, health, age and the like), make promises about results, use before-and-after claims or invent urgency. Numbers, places and deadlines only come from your video and notes. If your video promises something ("guaranteed"), the ad describes the offer without the promise.
What an organic post gets
Three captions, each with a hook, a short body and a call to action, plus the hashtags the platform uses: 3 to 5 on Instagram and TikTok, 2 to 3 on YouTube Shorts (with a title), up to 3 on LinkedIn and up to 2 on Facebook.
Copy, rewrite, write again
- Every text, headline and caption has its own copy button. Copy all copies the whole set.
- Rewrite with a short instruction, for example "more urgency", "mention the 10 places" or "end with a question".
- Write new ones writes the set again.
Your brand name and website come from your notes. Write them there when you start the video, for example "Brand name is Institut für Trading. url institutfuertrading.de".
Every ad of a batch
On the batch page, Copy for every ad writes the copy for all the ads at once. Each ad's copy is written from its own script and cut. Pick the platform and Ad or Post, add an instruction if you want one, and choose Write.
Open an ad in the list to see its copy and copy single texts. Again rewrites one ad.
CSV downloads every ad's copy as a spreadsheet with one row per variant: the text, the headline, the description or the caption and hashtags. Text downloads it as one document. Download all puts both files in the zip with the videos.
Credits
Ad and post copy is included in the edit, like the YouTube package. Writing it again doesn't use credits.
Check before you publish
The copy is written by AI from your video. Check names, numbers and claims before you publish. You're responsible for your ads meeting each platform's rules.
